This beautiful lady was painted for my sister, at the same time I was painting the Degas for my mother. The plan was to ship them over to the UK, so that my mom would receive her painting on her 70th birthday celebration. Unfortunately the paintings were damaged during transit, they were unpacked during a customs inspection and instead of rolling the canvases up and placing them back in the tube, they were scrunched up and shoved back inside. So needless to say they were very damaged when they were opened on the other side. An art framer performed a miracle and managed to stretch the paintings back onto frames and removed all the creases that had formed. So crisis was averted, my mother received her gift on time and this beauty has taken pride and place in my sisters living room.
